Well, not exactly snow-ing in Sydney. But for the first time in 5-6 days we get on the internet and find out--surprise!--there's a blizzard (another one! we find out too) bearing down on Philadelphia. A friend, Stephen, offers up two words for this snow storm that Caroline relays: Snowmageddon or Snowpocallypse (Now and Then),
We fly out from perfect blue-sky weather in Sydney's evening...into Los Angeles where hail has accompanied torrential rains earlier this afternoon. Wacky Weather abounds.
Now we are chilling in Los Angeles, about to go to dinner with Caroline's brother, Hal (my "brothah in law"!)...and Caroline is like, "c'mon!"
Hal takes us to a wonderfully cool place on the edge of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills: Dan Tana's. A few minutes after we get there, Benicio Del Toro walks in. For a few minutes, he and I are doing the same thing--waiting for a table. We wait a little longer than he does. Dinner is a taste and place of South Phila, with circular red-leather banquettes, great Italian--calamari fritti to tiramisu. Plus lots of great conversation with Hal. A fabulous ending to our travels!
Tomorrow--into the blizzard! (we hope to be home Wednesday night).

It was great to see and dine with both you, and I'm glad you liked Dan Tana's. It sure grows on you!
